Student Research Scholarships
Empirical research is a core component of psychology as an academic and clinical discipline. This goes hand in hand with the belief that services, programs, and initiatives that are provided to communities are most effective when informed by data-driven research. Therefore, AOJP is dedicated to promoting empirical research on the Orthodox Jewish community that will enhance knowledge of and services for this population.
To further this goal, AOJP awards yearly research scholarships to support psychology doctoral students conducting research on the Orthodox Jewish community. Scholarships are awarded based on the quality of the research proposal, the project’s relevance to mental health and/or psychology within the Orthodox Jewish population, and the impact the research will have on the community. Scholarship recipients may use the awarded funds to help with participant recruitment and engagement; data collection, analysis, and/or software purchases; statistical consultation; and dissemination fees associated with the awarded research project that may include conference registration, lodging, and associated travel expenses.
