AOJP’s Mission: AOJP is a professional organization intended to promote the growth and advancement of Orthodox Jewish psychology doctoral students, clinicians, academics, and researchers in order to serve both these individuals and the Orthodox Jewish public. This organization also provides members with a forum to address the unique role of psychology within the Orthodox Jewish community. 


AOJP’s Goals: AOJP’s goals are to provide a professional and supportive environment for Orthodox Jewish psychologists and doctoral students to develop and promote their professional careers alongside others with shared values and challenges; to promote the advancement of evidence-based practice, empirical research, and psychological assessment focused on the Orthodox Jewish community; to provide quality psychological training and networking through conferences, continuing education courses, and social events; to highlight the importance of psychology and psychologists within the Orthodox Jewish community; to support diversity and inclusion for its members and the community; and to partner with other agencies, rabbis, community leaders, and other experts in the field. 


AOJP’s Values: AOJP is a growth-oriented organization dedicated to serving its members and the Orthodox Jewish community with high quality services. AOJP started as a group for doctoral students, so providing mentorship and training for psychology students will always be a core value and focus. Torah, Hashkafah, and Halacha, together with psychological theory and research, guide our decisions, consultations, and practice.

Job Description
  • Providing ongoing support to AOJP’s Executive Board to develop and implement the organization’s processes and projects

  • Providing ongoing support to AOJP’s Marketing and Welcoming Committees to maintain the organization's website and membership processes

  • Monitoring website daily and directing inquiries and submissions to appropriate committees

  • Keeping track of membership applications and following up with membership dues

  • Organizing calendar of events for website and organizing registration for events

  • Organizing job postings, therapy groups postings, and referral list for website

  • Collecting marketing posts (and associated fees) from members and posting to WhatsApp, Listserv, and Website every Monday

  • Assisting other committees that require administrative support 

  • Keeping up to date with AOJP’s WhatsApp and Website’s messaging boards for any admin needs 

  • Competitive stipend provided at the end of each semester

Qualifications
  • Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree or be currently enrolled in an undergraduate program

  • Candidates must have excellent organization, writing, and communication skills, be flexible with working hours, and be able to multitask with several projects at any given time

  • Candidates must have internet access and significant experience using Microsoft Word and Excel

  • Candidates should have interest in the field of mental health and psychology

  • Preference to those with experience in website development, social media, graphic design, and/or Wix

  • This role will require about 10-15 hours weekly and occasional weekends
