For whom is this retreat geared toward?

• This retreat is for all Orthodox Jewish psychologists or doctoral students at every stage of their training or career.

What is the cost?

• You will be responsible for booking your own flight and hotel room.
• Please view the Pricing & Registration page or visit the Event Page on the AOJP website to determine your tier and associated cost.

• The discounted hotel room rate is $229/night 
• The retreat cost covers all conference programming, dinner on Sunday, lunch and dinner on Monday, lunch on Tuesday, snacks, and SWAG.
• Cancellation Policy: Cancel by 1/23: 50% refund, by 2/2: 25% refund, 2/3 and on: no refund

What will I get out of it?

• You will experience personal and professional growth, and build meaningful, deeper relationships with colleagues in a relaxing environment.

What is the Kashrus of food?

• All food will be under reputable local Hechsheirim (kosher certification).

Can I come late or leave early?

• While we encourage full participation for the best experience, you can decide what works best for you. Please note, the conference fee is fixed regardless of the length of your stay.

If I want to have a more active role in this, can I?

• Absolutely! Some presentation slots are still available, and we welcome ideas for additional programming. Please reach out to us with any ideas.

What will the panels and roundtable discussions look like?

• The panels will consist of approximately 3 presenters who will provide an overview of their topics for about 15 minutes each. Then the audience will be able to ask questions for either one panelist to answer or for all three to give their unique perspectives. Each panel will be moderated. 
• The roundtable discussions will be collaborative group conversations where all participants will have an equal opportunity to share their thoughts and perspectives on a specific topic. They will be facilitated by a moderator; ensuring everyone contributes equally to the discussion and feels respected for their unique positions. Based on the number of participants, there may be several groups being facilitated simultaneously. 
• For those presenting research during the roundtable discussions, they are welcome to present a digital poster or handouts with key data findings. 

If I am not an Orthodox psychologist, can I come?

• This retreat is exclusively for Orthodox psychologists. However, we will offer programming in the future that will be open to others. Stay tuned and subscribe to our newsletter for updates.

Can I bring my family?

• You are welcome to bring your family for the trip, but attendance at retreat programming is reserved for Orthodox psychologists only.

Do I need to stay at the Residence Inn in Surfside?

• You are responsible for booking your own hotel room. We recommend using the link provided (in confirmation email) for discounted rates, which also helps us secure further discounts on conference room rental, keeping the overall cost down. While you are not required to stay at the Residence Inn, please ensure you are present for all of the retreat programming.

What time does the conference start and end?

• The retreat begins at 5:00 PM on Sunday, February 23rd, and ends at 4:00 PM on Tuesday, February 25th.

Can you accommodate dietary restrictions?

• All food will be kosher. If you have specific dietary restrictions, please let us know, and we will do our best to accommodate them.

Is there separate swimming?

• We are not making any arrangements for separate swimming at this time.

Is it near the beach?

• Yes, the hotel is within walking distance to the beach.

Where do I daven?

• There is a shul within walking distance of the hotel: The Shul. We are likely to have our own minyan for Mincha/Maariv and possibly Tuesday morning Shacharis.

Are there kosher stores nearby?

• Yes, there are multiple kosher stores within walking distance.

Which airports are close by?

• Miami or Fort Lauderdale airports are both good options for traveling to the retreat. It is about 30 minutes from each airport to the hotel.

Will CEs be offered?

• There is a possibility that CEs will be offered, but there is no guarantee.
